Easy Stuffin'

This stuffing recipe is so easy, you'll wonder why you haven't made stuffing from scratch before, as with most of my recipes this is a great one to do with the kids, just be sure to wash their hands thoroughly after.

With very few ingredients this is a nice cheap recipe but packed with a real smack of flavour. What are you waiting for, give them a try!!

Serves

10

Makes 10 (slightly larger then golf balls)

Prep time 10 mins

Cooking time 40 mins

Ingredients

1.5tbsp butter

1 large onion, sliced finely

15g fresh sage or a small handful, roughly chopped

500g sausage meat, or 8 pork sausages skin removed

40-50g panko breadcrumbs

1.5tbsp apple sauce

Salt and pepper, about 1/4 tsp of each

Method

Preheat the oven to 170c

In a sauté pan, or frying pan, add the butter on a medium heat, once the butter is melted add the sliced onion and gently sauté for 5mins, until just soft.

Now add your chopped sage and cook for another 2 mins, remove from the heat and allow to cool.

In a mixing bowl add the sausage meat, breadcrumbs, apple sauce, salt and pepper and the cooled onion mix.

With clean hands, mix it all together and form into balls I like to make mine slightly larger then golf balls.

Place them on to a baking tray and pop into the oven for 30mins.

After 30 mins they will be ready to eat, or you can make them ahead, leave them to cool and then refrigerate, you can reheat them when needed.

Tip:

Instead of making balls you can make a stuffing loaf in a load tin, just allow a little bit longer to cook, around about 50mins.
